"I really can't think of an industry with larger files than ours. As an advertising agency, we routinely need to receive and send very large graphics (think full-colour billboard advertisements), full-screed video (think 90-second cinema commercials), and CD-quality sound files (think 120-minute presentations). This needs to happen in minutes at all hours of the day and night with companies both here and in North America and in Europe.

Now I am not a technically savvy user when it comes to the bits and bytes of the thing, but what I can say is that since we have had Fat Banana, we seem to be able to exchange files over the Internet even faster than we can on our internal network! In an effort to provided a more reliable speed benchmark, I have talked to our technical guru, who does understand propeller-head jargon, and he has assured me that our data transfer rate is, in fact, "unbelievable -!@##%!*#@- fast".

Because of tight advertising deadlines (particularly in light of the International time changes we have to deal with) we simply cannot afford to have our internet down even for a few minutes. And I am relieved and delighted to report that in the three months we have been using Fat Banana, not even one second has gone by when we have been without our service (which was certainly not the case with "the other guys").

Of course there are pros and cons to everything in life. And since ultra-high speed and rock-solid stability represented such major pros for us, I fully expected to find a major con to reside in the pricing structure of the Fat Banana service. Amazingly this is not the case. Indeed on a monthly basis, we are paying just a few dollars more than we were for our previous data pipe!

Because of the reliability, I'm afraid I am unable to comment on the amazing troubleshooting service commitment (six-hour maximum turnaround) that is included in our contract - we've never had trouble. But I feel sure it would be the same gold standard that the other parts of Fat Banana service have set.

Am I happy with Fat Banana? Happy is too small a word to adequately convey how good I feel about their service and technology. Move over cable and DSL, the future is here and it's about to eat your lunch."
